This workshop is beginner friendly for teens and adults. All materials will be provided and everyone will take home 4 small 5\"x7\" cyanotype prints as well as the knowledge and skills to keep creating at home. We will begin with the history and fundamentals of the art form and then students will learn and participate in each step of the process: how to mix chemistry, how to coat paper mediums, composition and layout, exposure process in sunlight or UV light, and washing steps to reveal the final cyanotype print. A small variety of objects for layout and composition will be available and is also encouraged to bring your own. Anything that casts a shadow will work. Keep in mind the prints will be small in size. Some fun ideas include flowers and leaves, sliced fruit, feathers, lace, netting, string, sea glass, patterned glass, stencils, paper cut outs, jewelry, etc. We will hopefully be spending a short amount of time outdoors in the direct sun. It is recommended to bring sunscreen, water, and to wear light clothing that you don't mind possibly getting a little messy in.
